The Progressive Insurance International Motorcycle Shows will visit the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi, Friday through Sunda, Jan.7-9.

"We have re-energized the 12-city tour for all types of riders and non-riders and are excited to return to Novi with the all-new Progressive International Motorcycle Shows series," said Marketing Director James Harter.

"Motorcycle fans will be treated to a totally new show experience filled with hot new bikes, an action-packed "No Limit Stunt Show," a custom bike competition with huge cash prizes, hands-on do-it-yourself seminars and so much more," Harter said.

Progresssive Insurance Co. has stepped in to replace Cycle World magazine as the principal sponsor of this year's tour to appeal to riders of all sort as well as those new to the sport, he said.

Harter said the show will feature the  latest street bikes, dirt bikes, cruisers, scooters and ATVs and a look at new technology available on modern bides from traction control and Bluetooth connectivity to rider adjustable mapping and wearable airbags.

Harter said the bikes on the show floor will range from ultra high-end custom choppers to budget scooters, ranging from the Suzuki GZ 250 at $3,790 to the mid-range Yamaha Stryker at $10,990 and high-end Harley-Davidson CVO Ultra Classic Electra Glide at $35,999.

In addition, fans can experience the thrills of Jason Britton Team "No Limit Stunt Show," he said. Stunt show hours are Friday, at 5:30 p.m. and 7 p.m.; Saturday, at 11 a.m., 2 p.m., 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.; and Sunday at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.

The show also will host an Ultimate Builder Custom Bike Competition, featuring elite-level custom motorcycles competing for a piece of a $90,000 cash purse and a chance to compete in the American Championship finale at the Daytona Progressive International Motorcycle Show in March.

As part of the AMD World Championship, custom bike competition will feature three classes and a "people's choice" winner.

Women riders will enjoy the Women Ride experience with gear to try on and seminars presented by experts from the Women's Motorcycling Foundation, Harter said. Continued...

The DIY Garage presented by Allstate Motorcycle Insurance will host seminars focusing on do-it-yourself motorcycle topics on how to install exhaust systems, set bike sags, wire GPS devices and more.

At MotoFlix theater, motorcyclists may watch highlights from famous motorcycle films and cult classics including "Take It to the Limit," which was digitally re-mastered for the first time since its big screen debut 30 years ago. Fans also will have the opportunity to meet director Peter Starr and see famed movie motorcycles up close.
