Professional wrestling event to also benefit charity Posted: 12 Mar 2011 07:43 AM PST Times staff NEW PORT RICHEY Wrestling event offers fun, helps charity Florida Championship Wrestling will host its inaugural show at Gulf Coast Harley Davidson on Saturday, featuring Florida Heavyweight Champion (and New Port Richey resident) Lucky Cannon. The Fan Fest runs from 2:30 to 5 p.m. with autograph stages, live music, interactive games and vendors. Matches start at 5 p.m., with eight showdowns in the outdoor ring. For nearly half a century, Florida Championship Wrestling has been the Sunshine State's primary wrestling promotion, providing a home for such wrestling legends as "The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes, The Brisco Brothers and Gordon Solie. Officially sanctioned and reorganized by the WWE during the summer of 2007, FCW has also become the training ground for future WWE Superstars. Proceeds from concessions and beer sales at Saturday's event will benefit the Angelus house for severely handicapped people. Gulf Coast Harley Davidson is at 5817 State Road 54. Tickets range from $10 to $20 for kids and from $20 to $25 for adults. Tickets may be purchased at Buddy's Home Furnishings in Port Richey, (727) 862-4900; and Tarpon Springs, (727) 942-0616. NEW PORT RICHEY Event to benefit woman with cancer A fundraiser will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Jilly's Lounge, 5313 Main St., featuring live music, auctions, prizes and food. The event is a fundraiser for Roseann Webb, a 45-year-old Pasco County resident who has been diagnosed with a signet ring carcinoma and has been given six to 12 months to live. Proceeds will go toward her medical and quality of life expenses. Donations are accepted at the door. For information, e-mail airprompt_24@yahoo.com. HOLIDAY Cracker house tours on Saturday Tours of the Baker House, the oldest cracker house in west Pasco, will be available from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. The house is at 5744 Moog Road.
